Yalelo is seeking a detail oriented and hands-on Distribution Manager with experience in logistics management software and a deep understanding in 3PL logistics, Fleet and Fuel management. The Distribution Manager will be responsible for managing the company fleet and 3rd parties to improve efficiency, reduce cost and to ensure smooth delivery of products and services. This includes analyzing systems effectiveness, managing day to day distribution operations and overall performance.

Location: The role will be primarily based in Lusaka.

The Right Fit candidate will:

  • Manage and improve the Impact of transportation delivery to the overall supply chain and logistics frameworks
  • Manage 3PL Partners to deliver best in class service
  • Develop methods to improve delivery operations by collaborating with the relevant stakeholders and Managing a productive team
  • Works to emulate emerging trends and technology in delivery operations
  • Develop distribution strategies to cut costs and improve efficiency and time
  • Develop Delivery management strategies to meet client needs and maintains standard operating procedures to ensure safety and security of company assets and human capital
  • Proactively work with order management processes to plan routes and ensure efficient operations with a view to maximize fleet durability and consistently support service and product delivery
  • Utilize Industry benchmarks and best practices on delivery operations and processes Manage the implementation of delivery management strategies
  • Develop an order management process based on business requirements Manage third-party logistics partners and delivery activities
  • Review performance of third-party logistics partners, cost and delivery efficiencies
  • Be responsible for fuel management across the fleet and accounting for all Tom-Cards and usage weekly/monthly.

The Distribution Manager Must Have:

  • Diploma or higher in logistics and/or supply chain management
  • 5 to 7 years’ experience in Logistics and fleet Management within an FMCG environment with customer service experience
  • Intermediate transdisciplinary thinking skills
  • Knowledge of duty of product care requirements, cold chain, and quality Advanced leadership skill
  • Advanced communication skills
