Investrust Bank Plc (IBP) is looking for suitably qualified, vibrant and self-motivated individuals to fill the positions below that have fallen vacant:

Position Title : Director – Technology and Operations (x1)

Grade: IBP9

Department : Technology and Operations

Location : Lusaka Main

Reports to : Managing Director

Job Purpose

The position of Director Technology and Operations will provide leadership in the management of the Technology and Operations Directorate for IBP. The position coordinates the development, planning, organising and controlling the Technology and Operations function in the Bank in order to optimise the use of resources and facilities to meet the Bank’s efficiency and effectiveness in its operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Formulates, implements and monitors the Operations and ICT strategy in line with the Bank’s business strategic objectives.
  • Contributes to the formation and implementation of the IBP Strategic Plan.
  • Implements an appropriate framework for the governance and management of Bank’s operations services/resources based on Industry Standards and best practices.
  • Establishes and reviews key operational risk indicators, key control standards and formulates action plans to minimise the Bank’s exposure to fraud and losses.
  • Manages the Banks operation risk exposure by supporting the business to identify areas of operation exposure and by developing and implementing corrective actions.
  • Designs, develops, and keeps updated the Bank’s Operational Manual and ensures compliance to all Operations Guidelines, Processes and Procedures.
  • Re-engineers business processes to improve customer service, cost effectiveness and control.
  • Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements relating to Bank operations.
  • Ensures that effective documentation is in place, in the form of user guides and implement operations improvement to reduce operational costs, tighten controls, improve service quality and customer service.
  • Oversees and directs department resources to meet performance targets and train and develop staff.
  • Represents the Bank’s interests at all operations related fora.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Grade 12 Certificate with 5 ‘O’ with credit or better in Mathematics and English.
  • Knowledge of Banking procedures, policies and risk management.
  • Knowledge of treasury operations and trade finance, credit, core banking systems etc.
  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University in any of the following:
    1. Banking and Finance
    2. ICT
    3. Business Administration
    4. Accounting or its equivalent
  • Master’s in Business related filed is an added advantage.
  • Minimum eight (8) years proven experience in the Operations and/or ICT fields of which five (5) years must be in a Banking environment and Senior Management level.
